Little Passports Kitchen Adventures is a subscription service that takes you and the youngster of your choice on a monthly culinary adventure. They send you a monthly box that includes Recipe cards, kitchen tools, games, puzzles, and crafts. This months region is Punjab, India. Below is a photo of what comes in the box. It is designed to get children interested in cooking at an early age. It also teaches them about cultures from around the world.
It comes with a grocery list to prepare all the ingredients you will need to get from the grocery store. It breaks down what is needed for each of the four recipes that are supplied with this months box. This makes it much easier to only get what you need in order to make the dishes of your choosing.
We decided to make Keema and Raita. The Keema is a very traditional Indian dish which basically includes ground meat, vegetables, and aromatic spices. Raita is basically a yogurt sauce with cucumber and spices. We chose to use white rice as the base, and then layer on the Keema and then top with the Raita sauce. This dish was extremely good and very interesting as I have never cooked in this style before.
It was so much fun working together with my niece to put this dish together. This was our second time doing this together and she was so proud of the final result both times. We started off by doing all the prep work and making sure everything was out and ready to go out and measured. This was so she could focus on the cooking part. The recipe took around an hour, which I feel was the perfect amount of time to hold an adolescences attention. When it was time to eat she completely cleaned her plate. The look of accomplishment when we were all done was worth every penny of the subscription.
All in all I would say that Little Passports Kitchen Adventures is a big hit. In my opinion even the pickiest eaters out there will try a new cuisine or dish that they helped make. I would highly recommend ordering this for the little ones in your life, especially if your looking to expand the types of food they will try.
